Maddie is a fourth-year Bioveterinary Student at Dalhousie University’s Agricultural Campus.
Originally from Saint John, New Brunswick, Maddie is currently working on her honors project investigating the gut micro bacteria from chicken samples she collected in Ethiopia and the Maritimes. She hopes her work will give insight on how different bacterial colonies affect disease resistance in poultry and how these differ between regions.
Her other passions include running, volunteering, the outdoors, frogs, and of course, chickens. Maddie hopes to pursue a career in research as she loves learning, writing, and working in a lab. She believes that working with and learning from other cultures will produce solutions which will lead to sustainable, global agriculture.
