
Mengdi Zhou
Mengdi Zhou is currently a Master’s candidate at the Dalhousie University Agricultural Campus under the supervision of Dr. Collins.
Holding two bachelors degrees in agriculture from Dalhousie University and Fujian Agriculture and Forestry University (China), she decided to move one more step further and pursued her interest in shellfish. Mengdi is currently researching alternative baits for commercial crustacean species, especially snow crab and lobster, aiming to find other effective baits to improve catchability and sustainability potentially.
Mengdi is a persistent individual, making her way onto the Dalhousie University, Faculty of Agriculture’s Deans list and achieving multiple scholarships from both universities, including a prestigious scholarship from the Chinese Scholarship Council. She is active around campus, participating in clubs, tutoring and teaching labs.
